About Me

Hi! As you've probably gathered, my name is Paul and I'm a filmmaker.

I know you’re wondering: my last name is pronounced with a silent H (“gel-ming,”) but its origins are Swedish and a proper Swede would pronounce it “hyell-ming.” Why (and when) did my family start pronouncing it incorrectly? Your guess is as good as mine.

I graduated in 2013 from Bethel University with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and a minor in film. I currently work full-time producing video content at Eide Bailly. I’ve previously worked in video roles at Thomson Reuters and Bethel University.

It's hard to pick favorites but some directors that I love are are Krzysztof Kieślowski, Federico Fellini, Todd Haynes, Paul Thomas Anderson, Brian De Palma, Terry Gilliam, and Terrence Malick.

When I'm not watching or making films, I like to listen to podcasts, visit art museums, and read thought-provoking books.

If you're interested in hiring me for a project or just want to discuss your interpretations of L'Année dernière à Marienbad (or lack thereof) you can contact me over here.
